Mommy Monday - Speech Delay Update - 6 Year Old
You can jump to 2:55 to get into the speech delay information. I
purposely kept the intro in so you can see just how far she has come. My
daughter Kaley is now 6 years old and she was speech delayed. She had
an expressive, receptive, and articulation delay. I am happy to say that
she no longer needs speech therapy.
Terms used in the video:
Expressive language delay (ELD) is a broad diagnosis that simply means
that a child is having trouble using language in some way, shape, or
form.
Receptive language delay is a broad diagnosis that simply means that a
child has trouble understanding language.
Articulation disorder is the inability to form the certain word sounds
correctly past a certain age. Word sounds may be dropped, added,
distorted, or swapped.

Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.
