Tummy Tuesday - 33 Weeks

This picture is from a week or two ago. I haven't taken any new pictures since. :(
The theater by us has been renovated and now has reclining seats..love them!

How far along?  33 weeks! I will be 34 weeks tomorrow. Baby Shea is the size of a pineapple.

Total weight gain/measurements: 12/13-lbs as of last week. Please note: My weight gain has been so low because I started off as 'overweight' so ideally I should only gain 15-20lbs in this pregnancy. I've learned recently that the amount of weight I should gain is complete BULL and I should gain however much I need to have a healthy baby. I have not been on any special diets whatsoever, but I am making an effort to eat a more varied diet even though Shea doesn't like it.

Maternity clothes: I give up!! I'm basically wearing ALL maternity clothes and I REALLY dislike it. The clothes are very plain and I find myself uncomfortable in them. I'm pretty sure I will be making the switch to leggings and long tops very soon. I just placed a H&M order today even though I was really trying to hold out since I only have a few weeks left. They're having a 30% off sale and $100 is a small price to help me feel good for these last 6 weeks of pregnancy.

Stretch marks: Yes!!!! They're here....

Sleep: I sleep about 6 hours in total a night. I would like more, but I know I'm lucky to be getting any sleep at this point.

Best moment this week: Being able to see the outline of Shea's foot on the side of my belly. It's been something the hubby and I have been waiting for since we got pregnant, it's weird and cool at the same time.

Miss anything? A lot today...regular clothes, not needing help to pick things off the ground, not needing a boost to get off the sofa, and being able to sleep on my side comfortably. Oh and wine. ;)

Movement: Lots!! Her favorite is still daddy's voice & Spanish music.

Food cravings: I really don't feel like I've had a lot of cravings this pregnancy, I just have things I prefer. My list of preferred items are: orange juice, COLD drinks, fruit, and french fries.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Still cigarette smoke.

Gender:  Girl!!

She has her tongue out!

Symptoms: Peeing all the time. Hands have started swelling a bit. Lower back pain. Pain at the bottom of my ribs. Fun times...

Belly button in or out? Out-ish. I definitely have more of an outtie now than an innie, but it's not completely out yet.

Wedding rings on or off? A bit of both. My wedding band no longer fits, but my engagement ring does.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! Ever since I've started taking hypnobabies I've been a lot more relaxed and pleasant.

Looking forward to: Baby shower this Sunday!! The theme is owls. :)

What is hypnobabies..?
Hypnobabies is a very successful 6 week, 3-hours per week, complete childbirth education course that was adapted with permission from Gerald Kein’s “Painless Childbirth Program” techniques rather than using simple relaxation, breathing or guided imagery. This allows our Hypno-Moms to enjoy “eyes-open childbirth hypnosis”, easily remaining deeply in hypnosis while walking, talking and changing positions; being as mobile as they would like to be during childbirth. Hypnobabies is well-known for helping women to create much shorter, easier and more comfortable labors, making childbirth the joyful experience it was meant to be. - From Hypnobabies website

In my own words. Hypnobabies is all about learning how to relax during labor and trusting that your body knows what to do. All hypnosis is self hypnosis and we all have encountered it on a regular basis - ex. driving to work and not remembering how we got there and daydreaming. This is not a scheme, it's about changing how you view childbirth and your body. So far this class has taught me to have more confidence in my opinions, my body and what it can do. Each night you listen to a cd that helps you relax into a deeper state (hypnosis). The cd's guides you through your ideal childbirth, a safe place that you learn to relax, and reinforces the fact that this is your body & you know it better than anyone else. I've seen SEVERAL hypnobabies births and I love how calm the women remain as they are giving birth.

Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.
