Gratitude Monday

Mondays tend to be a bit difficult to get through. The fun of the previous weekend is still lingering, but it's time for the work week to resume! I've decided to help us all appreciate Mondays more that I will begin a new series on my blog called Gratitude Monday where I will let you know a few of the things I am grateful/thankful for from last week.

“Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy — because we will always want to have something else or something more.” — Brother David Steindl-Rast

1.  Meadowlands Fair

This fair comes around every year and the hubby & I make sure to visit it at least once while it's around. Deep fried foods, circus 'freaks', & silly games. It always makes for a great date night.

2. Mia
I was able to see her two times this week and she made my day both times. That instant smile she gives you when she sees you just makes me smile!! Listening to her sing Downtown by the Saw Doctors makes me laugh too. She walks around the house grabbing people's phones and asking you to play Downtown on YouTube. Oh Mia what big teeth you have..lol

3. My sister + my niece & nephew
I couldn't resist taking this picture from my sister's Facebook!! I love it!
I was going over my texts from last week and I'm pretty sure people would think my sister and I are insane if you see half the stuff we write to one another. We tend to pick up our texts convos right where we left off in person, which can make for a confusing read for anyone who's not in the know. Gaga!!!  Oh and it was her b-day last week!!
Happy Birthday SIS!!!

4. Heaven is Here by Stephanie Nielson
I've been a long time reader of http://nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/. In this book she tells the story of the plane accident that she was in that burned 80% of her body and how she was able to recover. If this book doesn't make you believe in miracles then I don't know what will.

5. Dinner with friends.

The picture above is a cheat since I don't have a picture of the actual day. A few days ago I went out to dinner with my friends and it only proves how true our friendship is, we always seem to pick up where we left off the last time we saw each other. The conversation ranged from Pauly D, weddings, babies, people sleeping in cars, and Fifty Shades of Grey...

What happened last week that makes you feel grateful?

Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.
