Elf Haul & First Impressions

Happy Monday!! I hope you all had a great weekend!!

On to the makeup talk...a few days ago I saw that http://www.eyeslipsface.com/ (ELF) added a lot of new items to their website, and me being the ELF lover I decided to give them a try. Here's what I bought:

-Makeup Remover Wipes - Love these!!
-Stipple Brush
-Tinted Moisturizer in Sand SPF 20
-Mineral Blemish Kit
-Beauty Encyclopedia Face Edition
-Conditioning Lip Balm in Blissful Berry SPF15
-Cream Eyeshadow in Bronzed
-Mineral Lip Gloss in Night Owl

Beauty Encyclopedia Face Edition ($5.00) - Contains 4 highlights, 4 concealers, 1 blush, 1 bronzer, & 1 brush.
I was really impressed with this!! The highlighters are creamy & have a nice sheen to them. The concealers are very creamy and are easy to blend, the coverage is medium. The blush/bronzer is great too, the bronzer isn't as pigmented as the studio edition duo though.

The blemish kit ($8.00)- the main ingredient in this is sulfur and it is a 'clear' formula. I wouldn't say this is exactly clear, I wouldn't wear this out without another product on top - it does have a white cast. You can apply this in the morning and before you go to sleep, this will NOT cover up any blemishes it is just a treatment. I applied this at night and 2 hours later my pimples were a lot less red & by the morning one of them had completely dried up. I really like this!!

Stipple Brush ($3.00)- I don't think I would use this for foundation since the bristles weren't as firm as I would have liked them to be, but I think this would be great for blush application.

A close up.

Conditioning Lip Balm in Blissful Berry ($3.00)- I wouldn't buy this again, but it is a decent lip balm. It doesn't last for a very long time, but the color is nice & it smells lightly on coconut.
Cream Eyeshadow in Bronze ($3.00) - love!! This is very pigmented and I find that it lasts a long time. I think this is great to wear by itself or as a base.

Mineral Lip Gloss in Night Owl ($3.00)- I wasn't very impressed with this, the color was pretty but it didn't last more than 20 minutes.

Tinted Moisturizer in Sand ($3.00)- I had to take this picture from the ELF website because I forgot to take a close up picture of the one I bought. Opps!! I must begin by saying that the description of this color is wrong, it says it's 'for very fair skin tones with yellow undertones'. What?!?! This color is a near perfect match for me and I am nowhere NEAR fair..lol  My second issue also has something to do with the packaging and that's that I believe my tube was not full, to me it seemed like there was only half the amount of product that was supposed to be in there.
Now that my complaints about the packaging are out of the way I must say that I do really like this product, this product is a steal at $3.00 (even half full). This really does feel like a light moisturizer on your face that offers a very light amount of coverage. I also find that I was able to match my color easily based on the product swatches on the website. I already know that I would buy this again.

Swatches - Night Owl Lipgloss on Top, Tinted Moisturizer in Sand in the middle, Conditioning Lip Balm in Blissful Berry SPF15 & Cream Eyeshadow in Bronzed on the bottom.

Overall I'm pretty happy with my ELF haul. There were a few misses, but overall the hits makeup for it. The number one thing I would recommend from this haul is the mineralized blemish kit.

What's the last thing you bought from ELF?

  2. I was lemming for the tinted moisturizer and actually forgot about it but now that I've read your review, I want to try it! I wonder when it'll be available here in the PH. Nice review, as always. Short but sweet, direct to the point. :)

  6. I love elf and i always try and buy their new stuff because you can get a bag full of quality goodies for twenty bucks! I used the stipple brush with foundation, it was ok but not terrible. Their makeup brush belt is amazing, it holds so many brushes!
Anyway, great haul, I have to get the lip balm, blemish kit and TM
