Cleansing Oil Information PLUS Quickie Product Reviews

I've been using cleansing oils for a little while now, and I've noticed that there is one BIG misconception about it.

People with oily/acne prone skin CAN use a cleansing oil. This will NOT make your face oilier!!
Cleansing oils are great for removing makeup!!! I have tried several brands & I thought I would give you all quick reviews on the 3 I have tried.

*My Favorite!!! <3>MAC Cleanse Off Oil $22 for a 5 fl oz bottle.

An industry-strength oil-based makeup remover that's gentle on the skin. Botanically formulated with oils of olive fruit, evening primrose and jojoba seed and absolutely 100 percent mineral-oil free. Massages onto the skin to loosen all makeup, including waterproof mascara. Emulsifies into a lotion-type liquid with water: rinses off easily, no tissues required - and no residue! Protects with vitamin E. Skin softening and conditioning. Good for all skin types.

I've only been using this cleansing oil for a short time, but I love it!! The other cleansing oils I've tried in the past all definitely feel like oils, meaning that they feel HEAVY when you apply it to you face. I love that just 2-3 pumps of this product and my face is clean and makeup free!! I don't even wash my face after using this. I think this product is pretty affordable too.
NOTE: Most cleansing oils state that you do not have to wash your face after you use them, but I usually do because I feel like the cleansing oil has left a residue on my face that I want to get off. This is not the case with this MAC Cleansing Oil. The oil is also great for cleaning your makeup brushes, I use this on my white bristled MAC brushes.

My mom told me that I should never use the word hate unless I really mean it...well I HATE this cleansing oil!!! I know this is a HG product for many people, but it just doesn't work for me. This formulation feels extremely HEAVY!!! It does a good job of removing your makeup, but it leaves a very unpleasant film on your face even when you wash your face after!! Plus this stuff is $$$ Boo!!

DHC Cleansing Oil $25.00 6.7 fl oz/$12.50 2.3 fl oz

Superstar. Try this amazing cleanser and you’ll see why it’s our most popular product worldwide. Dirt, excess oil, makeup—even waterproof mascara—and other pore-cloggers dissolve easily, leaving your face a grime-free zone that is soft to the touch. Its unique water-soluble formula rinses completely, so you’ll never see a greasy residue. Olive oil and vitamin E help ensure you won’t see dryness either.

This product used to be a favorite of mine for a while, it does a good job at removing makeup & it doesn't feel TOO heavy on your face. One of the few things I disliked about this product was that it was hard for me to find so I would have to order it online & the shipping did become a bit pricey. Recently though I've had some problems with it. I think the bottle I own 'turned' on me, it suddenly made me break out like CRAZY!! I called DHC to see if this product has an expiration date & they said no it must be something ELSE I'm using!!! $%#@$ They were so rude about it too!!! Ugh for that customer service alone I won't be buying this product!

  1. This product is my HG of cleansers, it's love!! I've tried the one from DHC, it does not compare to MACs. I've already gone through two bottles and am about to start on my third one. It seems like this stuff last forever even if you use it everyday. Plus it smell pretty nice for oil, lol. Thanks for doing this review Tammy, this product needs much love. I'm surprised that not many people have tried this yet. ^-^
