Sulfate Free Tip
Sulfate free shampoos and conditioners are everywhere! I'm sure we've all heard how much better these are for our hair. Have you tried a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner and felt like it didn't work? Well I may have the answer for you. Before you begin using a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner you have to wash your hair with a shampoo that DOES have sulfates so that it can remove any type of silicone that your hair may have. Why is this important? Sulfate free shampoo and conditioner are not able to remove silicones, and it time those silicones can make hair brittle and cause hair fall out.
Another tip is to make sure that none of your styling products contain silicones, basically anything that claims to make your hair shiny/frizz free has silicones in it. If you do decide to continue using your styling products with silicone in them while using a sulfate free shampoo and codintioner make sure to use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week to remove the silicones and prevent hair breakage.
