Benefit: Some Beauty to Love

Happy Monday!! I hope you all had a great weekend!! I'm aware that some of you may be off today because of Thanksgiving (Canada) and Columbus Day, please don't rub it in. =P

I had a good weekend - it was great combo of good food, cleaning up the house, and relaxing. I really do get great satisfaction from an organized closet & house...I'm a weirdo like that. lol

On to the makeup talk, I have a TON of makeup products to review & I've been lagging a bit on them because I haven't thoroughly tested these products yet & writing reviews like that can be very time consuming. I've decided to do several quickie reviews at once to get through them all, as a matter of fact I think this will be Product Review Week.

A few days ago I read about Benefit's Eye Bright and when I went to the Sephora website I saw that this item came in a kit with 3 other Benefit products for only $29. Major bargain since the Eye Bright alone is $20!

Look at how adorable this packaging is!!

From the Sephora Website:
Some Beauty To Love ($76 Value) Retails for $29

What it is:
A limited-edition set of four Benefit "lust-haves" in a collectible, purse-shaped box.

What it does:
This kit is the perfect gift for the beauty obsessed and includes an array of face-brightening products including: one full-size Coralista coral-pink cheek powder, one full-size Eye Bright instant eye brightener, and deluxe minis of "That Gal" brightening face primer and BADgal Lash mascara.

This set contains:
- 0.42 oz CORALista cheek powder with brush
- 0.05 oz Eye Bright instant eye brightener
- 0.14 oz BADgal Lash Mascara
- 0.25 oz "That Gal" face primer

CORALista Cheek Powder - Full Size
I really do love Benefit face powders. My first ever 'real' makeup splurge was Benefit's Hoola and I still love that powder to this day! The blush is very similar to Nars' Orgasm in color. This is my favorite item of this set, the color is subtle with a slight sheen so you don't need to apply a highlight to your cheeks & it lasts all day. This is a very pretty natural color that I think is great for every day use.

BAD Gal Lash Mascara
I was slightly disappointed with this product, I had heard so many great things about this & I feel like it let me down. Don't get me wrong this isn't a bad mascara, but I can't say it did anything incredible or dramatic to my lashes. Again, this is another every day product that I would use for a simple look.

I can say that even though these bristle are all very close to one another this mascara did not clump and I was able to reach each and every lash without any problems.

"That" Gal Primer
I'm very eh about this product. It doesn't help your makeup stay on longer (I don't think it's supposed to), but it's supposed to brighten your face. I really can't say I saw any difference in my skin or makeup after I used this product. I think those with lighter skin tones may see some results when using this.

Eye Bright - Full Size
I like this product, but I don't love it. I think it does do a good job to brighten up your under eye area, but only if you don't have severe circles. I would not recommend this for people with dry skin, this may be too drying for you. I use this product on lower waterline and I like the awake look it gives me. I'm glad I was able to try this product as a result from buying this kit, because I would be disappointed if I would have bought this product individually for $20.

Swatches
CORALista on top, "THAT" Gal Primer on the bottom left, & Eye Bright on the bottom right.

Overall I really like this kit and I do think it's a great way to try new Benefit products without having to pay full price. I do think these items are great for travel since they are all small and provide a very simple makeup look.

Comments

  1. That blush looks so pretty! For some reason I can't seem to pull the trigger on any Benefit products yet. I am think of trying their new Pore-fessional primer.

  2. I do love benefit blushers. =) Nice haul.

Btw, I actually prefered the eye bright when it was in a duo pot with boiing. I think i must have been the only one. =)

  3. The price is so good! I really want it for the full sized blush (which I haven't tried) and the Eye Bright pencil (which I love!).

I agree with you about the Bad Gal mascara just being so so. It looks great on my lashes but it ends up a smudgy mess. I'm debating whether to try the waterproof version, or stick with the mascaras I'm using.
